Having taught in some inspirational London yoga studios such as our favourite Yogarise, Peckham, we are thrilled Shay has chosen to relocate to Brighton and joined the Soulfit teacher team.
Originally from the West Coast of Canada, growing up near Vancouver BC, Shay started her movement practice in dance, and participated in dance competitions into University. She originally picked up yoga as a way to maintain her flexibility for dance between competition seasons. However, after a dance injury, Shay began to practice yoga with more dedication. As she continued with the practice, she was surprised to find that the insomnia she had struggled with for years vanished, and in short, she was hooked.
Shay is a qualified 500H RYT. She trained with The Yoga People in Rocket, Ashtanga, Mandala Vinyasa, and Yin (and she loves teaching beginners). She is passionate about helping people find comfort and ease in their own bodies while having a few laughs and tumbles in the process. Shay encourages her students to challenge themselves with with an open mind and compassion to their own limits. She believes that the sacred does not need to be serious, and a good sense of fun does wonders on the mat and in life.
She will be welcoming you on our mats for a beginners class on Fridays 1pm-2pm; Vinyassa Flow on Saturdays 9.30am-10.45am and Sundays 9.30am-10.45am
